well my drivers are not installed through apt but i installed them
manually...altho i get the nvidia logo at gdm
startup so i guess they are installed properly.. glxinfo | grep render
also gives that direct rendering is on, so i guess drivers are fine

Beryl is extremely alpha quality software. You just give it a try, enjoy
it for a day or two and revert back. If you want something more stable stick
to Compiz. For me they both still require some more polishing. I would give
them another 6 months until its fit for stable use. Even newer drivers will
change the situation.
