Well, yeah. But if I get my movies from elsewhere I'm not really going to waste money on Mr. iPod when I already have elsewheres to play them. And I'll buy an ebook reader when there are significant sources of nonDRM-ed ebooks. At the moment I'm picking them up from files the authors have posted themselves (academic stuff, Cory Doctorow, famnfic) and books I can buy from Baen Books. That comes nowhere near the universe of books I'd like to buy. I read them on my Nokia N800, which was bought for other purposes, isn't entirely convenient because its controls weren't really designed for book-reading, but will serve, being somewhat open. I'm not going to spend money on something more ergonomic until there are enough nonDRM books to justify it. > > It is a little insane to buy an IPod just to jailbreak it. And that's why I'm probably not going to buy an Ipod. Or an Ipad. Or a Kindle... -- hendrik _______________________________________________ mlug mailing list [email protected] https://listes.koumbit.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mlug-listserv.mlug.ca
