I have never touched Debian and last night in anticipation of doing an installation I did a wget -c *.iso for the multiple DVD files.
On the Debian website, there was also a set of document listings showing the contents of each DVD that I downloaded. In perusing each list, I did not see grub/lilo or kernel files within any of the DVDs. Am I right that to do the install, I must also download a CD Boot image that would setup a minimal system and I would subsequently have to read each of the DVD's to extract files that I require? (As I already have the ISO files, burning a few DVDs is not a major time loss or loss of effort). If I don't need the DVD's, then from what I understand, there is a graphical installation program and using it I build my picklist and download the critical files from a website. Just don't want to get frustrated by having to redo an installation several times. I would like to learn and plan to do it right the first time. ------------------ Regards Leslie Mr. Leslie Satenstein mailto:[email protected] mailto [email protected] / [email protected] www.itbms.biz
