Happy New Year everyone. I just read that Chile has mandated that cellphones sold in Chile, if there are no debts on the account, that a person can move from one isp or telephone provider to another by asking for his phone to be unlocked. The phone is to be priced separately from the service.
This law will mean that this rule should be coming to the USA or Canada, otherwise someone in Chile can start a small business arranging for any smartphone, Iphone included, be unlocked.
