To keep things simple, I created a 3-card database, and saved the .mem file. If I open the .mem file, the format seems fairly easy to see.
I don't know why only the first record has 'last_rep', 'grade', 'cat', and so on. (Some of my bigger databases have these attributes for each record, but it looks as if the attribute is only stored if there is actually a value for that attribute for that record.) I have used @@@@@@@@@@@@ to separate individual records. I have used -------------------------------------- to separate interesting segments of each record. BTW: In Notepad, everything is on one line, but when I cut and paste into a post, it comes out in a long, vertical strip. Bless Bill.
