The problem with occasional backup glitches is not restricted to
Mnemosyne. I'm sure it has affected almost all of my applications at
some time or other since DOS 2.11 :)

The only safe way is to use a dedicated backup program. I use Genie,
which is great. But as a miserable Highlander, I probably wouldn't
have bought it if I had known about the free "Cobian Backup":

I keep all my data for all applications in Documents\Data. For
example, Documents\Data\Mnemosyne

This means that I am backing up a single directory, rather than
searching all over my hard drive for data to back up.
