There are several quality reviews on the web comparing different SRS systems and anki often comes very high. It's pretty feature packed. I nearly stuck with it after trying it for a few weeks.
I prefer the simplicity if mnemosyme. And there are a couple of borderline show-stoppers that clinched it. The main one being that anki imports and renames image files that you may wish to use in your cards and holds them in a flat folder structure. I don't want to do that. I deliberately rename jpegs to have meaningful names and contain useful exif data and resized to suit mnemosyne. I also use the same jpegs linked to from an openoffice database I'm working on which simply links to the same physical files. And sometimes I use the same jpeg in several mnemosyne cards depending on my goals. If you look at http://theaccidentalarborist.blogspot.com/2009/09/anki-and-mnemosyne.html you'll see a few links to online reviews of mnemosyne, anki and others that you might find useful. Another thing to consider is your own personal preference. Do you like using flashy interfaces? Doing lots of stuff with the mouse? I operate mnemosyne almost entirely with keystrokes. Even adding new cards I do almost entirely using the keyboard. It's personal preference. cheers, Dougie -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "mnemosyne-proj-users" group.
