Here's an insight from today's reviews. I had not finished all my
scheduled cards from the previous two days, so today's scheduled cards
covered three days and a total of 87 cards. Of those, 18 were sister
cards from 9 "parent" cards (maps and cloze-type). After noting the
sister cards which had been presented, I restored the latest backup
version to rerun today's reviews and check the statistics of the
sister cards.

It turns out that out of every pair of sister cards shown today, each
individual card had been scheduled for review on a _different_ day:
either today, yesterday, or the day before. So no card had been
scheduled to appear on the same day as a sister. The fact that they
did appear together is an accidental result of doing multiple days'
reviews on the same day.

I wouldn't call that Mnemosyne's fault!

Although I can't rerun the reviews which initiated this thread, I
suspect it was caused by a similar combination of multiple days'
reviews into one day.
