The directory is not write protected, but the Roaming folder is Read-only. I tried to uncheck the Read-only attribute, only for it to be checked again when I checked it afterwards. Then I tried to remove the Read-only attribute by the following in Command Prompt : *attrib -r +s C:\Users\ADMIN\Appdata\Roaming*
After that I tried reinstalling Mnemosyne. Still, there is no Mnemosyne folder in Roaming. Also, now I am getting a different error while running Mnemosyne : " An unexpected error has occurred. Please forward the following info to the developers: Traceback (innermost last): File "mnemosyne, line 191, in <module> File "mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\_init_.pyo", line 186 in initialise File "mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\_init_.pyo", line 264, in activate components File "mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\configuration.pyo", line 81, in activate File "mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\configuration.pyo", line 277, in fill_dirs File "os.pyo", line 157, in makedirs WindowsError: [Error 5] Access is denied: 'Mnemosyne' On Friday, 24 October 2014 17:17:35 UTC+5:30, Peter Bienstman wrote: > > The problem seems to be then that Mnemosyne tries to write its data in the > directory I mentioned, but does not have permission there. > > Can you double check if that directory is not accidentally write > protected? > > Peter > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [email protected] <javascript:> [mailto:mnemosyne- > <javascript:> > > [email protected] <javascript:>] On Behalf Of Aditya Singh > > Sent: 24 October 2014 13:32 > > To: [email protected] <javascript:> > > Subject: Re: [mnemosyne-proj-users] Installing Mnemosyne > > > > Yes, this is the first time I'm trying to install Mnemosyne.
