For the past month or so I've taken the Widget example application that came with MG2 and made some improvements to it, the most notable one being integration with Validat <http://validat.riaforge.org/>. I uploaded it to RIAForge as a project I named Walidget <http://walidget.riaforge.org/>but the source is only available via SVN right now. My primary motivation for putting the code on RIAForge was to show some addons I wrote for Validat and as a source for ColdSpring.xml examples for a ColdSpring presentation I am scheduled to make at webDU in May. If there is a need for example applications for MG3, I am quite happy to adapt my Walidget project to target new features in MG3. I only learned about the new features of MG3 after finding the PDF embedded in the ZIP file. I like to go beyond just making the app work in in a framework and have app to make the best use of the framework's available features, so as long as I know what those are I think I can turn Walidget (or something like it) into a useful example application. I realize that converting my Walidget project to MG3 would not be a straight port. It still uses scaffolding which is not supported yet in MG3, but I find that scaffolding is much cooler in theory than in practice so I don't mind ripping it out of my app. PS. Are exit events deprecated in MG3? I didn't see it used in any of the currently bundled examples. Exit events seem like a good idea to me: it makes it easier for me to see how events are linked in an MG2 app, as well as making views potentially more reusable. Did any of you guys learn something about exit events that suggests we shouldn't be using them any more?
