Vinny and I had this email conversation once, but it was a long time ago
and my memory isn't serving me well unfortunately.

Britpop, as you well know John, is a term used to describe music of more
recent vintage than the 60s. I've actually seen many of these bands
live (Oasis, Blur, Supergrass, OCS etc....) and even own their
recordings. (I must admit the CDs were not PAID for, but that is a
different (BMG) story.) SO, I know of what I speak. We've gone over
this ground many times before, but to me, "mod" will always be a 60s
thing (remember? that's where it started and, frankly, died) and I don't
see much relevance in say, "Boys and Girls" ....BESIDES the fact that
it's a crap song. This is not to say that I don't like PLENTY of other
music that is not in the mod category, but there is so much good OLD
stuff to dig, that I just don't have time for this "mod=modern"
crapola put forth by House fans trying to force fit their own obsessions
into "mod".

But you knew all about what "Britpop" meant anyway, didn't you? Or did
you just want to drop some names like The Ation and The Creation?
Good bands, but more like mod for sophmores.
