That is true with Intel processor, but not with AMD MP processors. My
processors work absolutely together like one, spike together and I have, in
rare cases, seen modus processes running higher than 50%.

Subject: [Modus] hyper threading on Windows 2003

Yes, basically the services are not written to run on multiple
processors, instead they execute in memory spawning new threads to
handle individual calls. This in turn means that the OS will distribute
the processes over multiple CPU's, however each service will be
restricted to that percentage off the processing power.

You can see this quite clearly on a dual processor system as none off
the Modus Services will use more than 50% off the total processing as
reported by Task Manager. However, there are several processes running
on the system and hence overall you would see a benefit on a multiple
processor system.

This can actually be seen by many applications that run under windows
and would explain why several applications would perform better on a
single processor with 2/3 the processing power off a dual processor
system.

Hi Suneel,

Are you saying that modusMail (v1 or higher) doesn't take advantage of
multiple processors?

Thanks in advance for the clarification.
