But that is an area that I think a vendor has a obligation to customers. A vendor may not want continue supporting a feed to a relatively small number of older product customers but there should be a substantial time from the announcement of lack of future support and the end of that support. In the event of a virus file feed or other "feed", the vendor should see that coming and make a module to allow the old product to use a currently available feed. The customer has voted with their money to select the vendor's product, and its unique features (assuming there are some) and operational modes are not easily replaced on 30 days notice. Sudden withdrawal of something like future antivirus support leaves the customer sitting on a ticking bomb wondering when the loud noise will occur. That really causes discomfort and makes other customers wonder about their own decisions. Shades of ... MajorBBS a few other remembered vendors.
