It actually sounds as though it might be using 'POP before you drop' to authenticate and hence a send and receive attempts to send first failing, then retrieves all messages, and on next attempt it sends first this time having been authenticated by the previous POP3 connection. ----- Committee: A group of people that keeps minutes and wastes hours.
