Though the catch rate has been very good, I disagree with the false positives statement. In earlier versions, we ran almost all of the Extreme scripts and went some weeks without a single person releasing a message from their quarantine. I would have to look back at the records, but I believe we went months without a single true false positive report. When we upgraded to ModusMail 3, we enabled the extreme script (foolish of us in hindsight). We had thousands of false positives and hundreds of quarantine releases. After a day, we clocked it down to strong. Now, we're seeing between 25 and 50 quarantine releases a day. Most are not true false positives, but many are. We may have to switch the default server setting to Normal from Strong because of the high false positive rate. This is not necessarily a bad thing. However, to those people who haven't yet upgraded, you should be warned that the old concept of Normal/Strong/Extreme is radically different than the new. The new system generates a lot more false positives (at least in the Strong and Extreme settings) than earlier versions, something that we didn't realize going into the upgrade. Knowing this ahead of time would have prevented a lot of headaches last week. -Ben ** To unsubscribe, send an Email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the body or subject line.
