Well, I tried including a 25 KB screen shot, but that
didn't work. How small are emails limited in this forum? From: Michael B. Smith Sent: Tuesday, January 13, 2004 12:49 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [Modus] {OT} Small business Server Delays Does the queued email show in the Ex2k3 queues on the
server? I'm presuming so.
Is this company hosting their own external DNS? Or do they
have a proper split DNS?
This is the default configuration for outgoing
retries in Ex2k3:
First retry interval:
10
Second retry interval:
10
Third retry interval:
10
Subsequent retry
interval: 15
Delay notification: 12
Hours
Expiration timeout: 2
Days
(Default SMTP Virtual Server
Properties, Delivery tab)
has their's been changed?
Clicking the "Advanced" button, has "Perform Reverse
DNS lookup" been checked?
ISA settings are found in the "ISA Management" MMC snap-in
(including rules, filters, and LATs). From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Suneel Jhangiani Sent: Tuesday, January 13, 2004 12:33 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Modus] {OT} Small business Server Delays I’ll double check on
the root hints, but the point is that an Email sent to me got queued yesterday
and still hasn’t been delivered although other emails have
been. DHCP is running and is
handing out addresses correctly for the internal space. The external (Internet)
interface has a single static IP which is bridged over from the ADSL modem and
all other connections are working fine. I believe the ISA is
running as the server creates a basic rule set, however I have been unable to
find the rules in the Routing MMC. -----
Here at First National, you're not just a
number - you're two numbers, a dash, three more numbers, another dash, and
another number. [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] I would verify the
configuration of the DNS server on the SBS computer (using root hints
preferably). I would also verify that DHCP is handing out the internal IP
address of the SBS computer for DNS. Are they using ISA?
That can open up an entire other can of worms... |
