As far as I know, Microsoft's implementation of DNS is not fully up to standards. As you know, ole'Microsoft likes it their way only. Therefore, its highly not recommended to use their DNS servers !! So what we do is install the standrads based DNS Server: BIND. It FREE and available on the net for download. I suggest you do not use Windows DNS and instead install and use this standards based DNS server (BIND) where they have a version for Windows servers. I used it on Windows NT Servers and 2000 Servers with no issues.
