We currently use:
2 processors - Opteron 2.4GHz
4Gb RAM
SATA RAID 0+1 with 8 Seagate 120Gb Drives (2mirrored*4striped)

We have about 8000 accounts right now, mostly pop3 with about 20% using
webmail (IMAP). We run about 5-10% processor utilization and about the
same on the RAM, processing about 140k messages daily.
