I have just renewed the P4 SS at a cost of £290 which is unchanged from last
year and included legal protection cover of £30.

Before renewing with Boncaster I trawled round various brokers and obtained
other quotes in excess of £100 more - all were with Equity Red Star which is
interesting.

Boncaster are very good and I have used them for 15 years.

Last year they were very good at negotiating a better quote (down from £500!)
on the P4 SS, and I do believe brokers will work hard to retain business.

Apparently, in my case its the value of the car that causes the premium to be
high, which is a good job the road tax is only £165 for a very environmentally
friendly motor!.

The every day car is a much different proposition, and I have recently renewed
with Nationwide instead of the AA who had always been very competitive. Of
course Nationwide will discount the insurance to get your details, and then
bombard you with various other products.

It must be the time of year. I'm expecting my renewal quote for the +4 to plop
onto the doormat any day now so I too will be embarking on the annual
ring-round and haggling. I usually manage to get some premium knocked-off, but
never as much as I normally achieve on the tin-top.

The changing face of car insurance eh!!
Just ringing round as the Morgan Policy is due for renewal. I have 3 morgans
with Equity Star via Gott and Wynne and I have no complaints but thought it was
time to shop around and compare prices as I haven't done it for a year or two.
I'm waiting for some to get back to me but the majority are very keen to push
multicar policies and include the Freelander and Pam's TF on the same policy.
Peter Best the only quote in at presnt and I've not put the +8 on their quote
and they are way over the top.
It will be interesting to see what the others come in at.
