If you want ideas from a complete numpty, does it occur in the wet or after
rain? Could water creep in and short the light out? Have any wires been
damaged/trapped and thus 'broken', perhaps allowing water in somewhere. If
it takes 50 miles before it goes, could heat be involved? Is a
wire/component near a heat source and overheating and breaking the circuit?
Many years ago I had a similar fault and a new indicator selector fixed it,
perhaps a clean up inside the switch cowl could reveal a problem with the
indicator selector arm/contact?
Apologies for naive suggestions but perhaps something may offer a 'spark'
of light.
