Signature 1Yup, me too. If it isn't, there'll be an intermittent short on the wiring somewhere...

Me too Rob, washer disintegrated in one of the wing-top lights. Fuse popped
every time I turned the lights on. I found it by removing each bulb in turn,
can't remember if it was the last one I got to, but Sod's law says it was!

Hi Alan,
My bet is with Colin on this as I had the same but with the brake
light/reversing light fuse. i.e. it turned out to be the fibre washer affair
which had crumbled away and allowed one of the connections to earth out (took
me kinages to find it!). As Colin says try SVC for the light unit.
All the best,

Hi Alan
I had the exact same problem on my 08 car so it may be relevant. Inside
the indicator lamps the central contact is located on a fibre washer, the
washer is tensioned by a steel coil spring.
The washers are mode from rubbish material and when damp (and of course
we all know how easy it is to get water in) flexes and allows the central
contact wire and soldered nipple to tip and touch the spring, that blows the
fuse when the amp is turned on.
As a temporary fix I ground down a similar sized fibre washer from a
workshop pack and Araldited it to the back of the OE washer and rebuilt the
lamp, OK the spring is under a tad more compression but so what, we are talking
a millimetre or two here!
I ordered a lamp, it was delayed in coming through my local dealer so I
also sourced one via SVC http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/ you may wish to note that the
SVC price is almost half the MMC price via a dealer!
My quick fix is still waiting for me to find my round-tuit........;-)
One day I will either fit the new lamp or reinforce the other 3 as that seems
to be a secure fix to date. Time will tell.
BR
Colin (of course also check all other terminals and wiring for shorts but
the lamps are very suspect).

Any bright ideas on this one?
The flashing indicators on Wendy’s Roadster 4 seater (2006) keep
blowing the fuse.
When I replace the fuse it sometimes blows again instantly the right
hand indicator is selected, sometimes after 50 miles or so.
BHM’s ace electrician has crawled all over it and could find no fault.
Replaced the fuse and it’s now gone again after the usual 50 miles.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I’m open to fresh ideas.
Thanks
Alan
