I implemented something similar to what you're doing and I can confirm that it works also on Windows (.Net, didn' try Mono) with the same code and imports, but it took me a long time to get there, so I decided to stay on OpenOffice (not Libre) 3.3; it's ancient but it works well for my case (yours, of course might be different).
