If Attachmate is the legal entity who are in now in possession of Novell's assets and liabilities then it only makes sense they're responsible in fulfilling all Novell's prior obligations, including the support that has been paid for.
If they want to nullify the contract, then I imagine we should all be re-imbursed for lack of execution. Either way, we should be given the courtesy of a formal statement to MonoTouch/MonoDroid customers.
