We need to create some plugin dll's for some of the more popular html editors. We also need to blanket the web with quick scripts people can just cut and paste into HTML documents and they need to look and preform better then their jquery counterparts (or else people will just use the jquery snip-it because with the level of penetration they already have you better bet there will be about 10 scripts to 1 mootools script)".
Just my 2 cents
------------------------------------------------------------------------ André Fiedler <mailto:fiedler.an...@googlemail.com> Monday, April 04, 2011 9:13 AMI think Mootools is more like ExtJS and less like jQuery. Do we really need designers that want to do quick effects very easy. Mootools isn´t very easy. It´s somewhere between jQuery and ExtJS I think. So in my opinion designers, who try mootools, will tell it´s bad, difficult, just don´t work very well.2011/4/4 Arian Stolwijk <ar...@aryweb.nl <mailto:ar...@aryweb.nl>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Arian Stolwijk <mailto:ar...@aryweb.nl> Monday, April 04, 2011 8:53 AMI could be jury if you like. I think it would be a nice idea and some good PR for MooTools :-)On Mon, Apr 4, 2011 at 2:46 PM, Olivier Girardot <ssab...@gmail.com <mailto:ssab...@gmail.com>> wrote:------------------------------------------------------------------------ Olivier Girardot <mailto:ssab...@gmail.com> Monday, April 04, 2011 8:46 AM what's the website in ? is it on GitHub ? if so maybe we can help. There are a lot of contest and design pages. But no one is related to mootools. Quite the contrary, if I do my obligatory right-click, the most of designers-pages are written in this queerish jquery-tool. I am sure that all of them also can be done with mootools. I think the reason for that fact may be that web-designers are mostly creative persons who are not very interested in technical things. Should the moo-community show them what’s possible with moo? (I think to show some example page are not enough!) What do you think about starting a moo-contest? A page where all moo-developer can post there moo-designs and the audience and/or an international jury can give an evaluation. The aim should be to create a meeting point where web developers and designers can share experiences, inspiration, knowledge and get an overview what is possible with moo. Here can also be shown the forge- classes in a designed environment. The awards (best side of the week / month / ever) can also promote the best moo-web designers in the world. What do you think, does it make sense? Should it be managed also by the moo-developer-team or can the contest be started by everyone? greetz hamburger
