It wasn't all roses. Sue Heim missed out on bidding on two
Heritage lots because someone on their end screwed up on the phone bidding.
While I'm no big eBay fan, you're not seriously suggesting that this is the only
way to go? Most poster collectors ("real" or not) simply can't afford to
participate in these high-end affairs. And you don't hear much talk about
the $40,000 for a BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN title card because, well, sorry to
say, most of us cannot and will not ever be able to throw away that kind of
money on a small piece of 69-year-old paper. That doesn't mean we aren't "real
poster collectors" you know.
I mean, what's there to say about such an absurd price
anyway?
Now, if someone wants to discuss the artistic or printing or
rarity aspects of one early Universal horror title card over another, that
would be interesting. But waxing lyrical over sky-high record prices doesn't do
much for me.
