Andy, Really, this transparent attempt at justifying your own pre-emptive censorship and moves to ban people who you perceive might become a problem is embarrassing. And a lot of people would say you brought it on yourself. We talked about other ways to handle things some time ago privately, but apparently you decided to take the censorship and banning route. So now you get the results. No, I didn't even bother to read the link to NSFGE -- it's immaterial how bad the post is. If the moderators of that forum prefer to have such things happen in order to preserve free speech, unfortunately that's the price you sometimes pay. If they would rather give time for peer pressure to get things back in line and calmed down, that's also an approach I prefer to see taken. I'll take both techniques any day over arbitrary censorship and banning administered by one or two people "for the good of all".
But, honestly, everyone on all sides of this needs to realize that these are not MOPO issues.
