** This may be old news to everyone else (I'm always in a cave, buried under
piles of work) -- but the following eBay auction caught my attention:
http://tinyurl.com/ywbhhs
** I'd like to know what your opinions might be about the possibility of
this poster being "added" to the list of titles that have been reproduced
but sold as vintage theatrical originals. I have collected the Style B
Manhattan bridge in all formats for nearly 30 years. I have style B bridge
inserts and half-sheets that are rolled -- and their authenticity has never
been questioned.
** But never have I seen a rolled 1979 style B Bridge 27x41 one-sheet of
"Manhattan." I have purchased 26x39 and 27x40 rolled reproductions and hung
them in my offices throughout my career. But I've never come across a 27x41
ROLLED.
** Note that lack of NSS information in the image on this auction though the
seller states this is a NSS poster. I asked the seller to identify the
serial number in the bottom right corner for verification and he says it's
there.
** Do ONE-SHEETS of this title with the NSS numbers "790072" exist in ROLLED
condition? This film was hardly a box-office blockbuster and is more
appropriately considered a cult favorite. I'd HATE the idea of this title
being added to the list of suspicious 27x41 restrikes being sold as rolled
originals.
