Michael and all:
I have been watching older films in HI-DEF on the MGM-HD
channel (255) on DirecTV. Films like:
REBEL IN TOWN
TOPKAPI
RED RIVER
REAR WINDOW
PSYCHO
THE INDIAN FIGHTER
THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH
The schedule for today includes hi-def masters of DIE MONSTER DIE and
THE
LAST MAN ON EARTH.
After watching these older films in HI-DEF, I would
not invest in any kind of older DVD technology because
the difference in the viewing experience just in the photography alone
is enormous.

i want to buy a DVD recorder. my first.
they are cheaper than 100.00 BUT the Blue Ray technology is closer
to 700.00
since i would be recording primarily the classics of the 40s and
50s off TMC channel etc...... is the extra blue technology worth
it????
of course, i really do want that HI DEF and GREAT SURROUND when i
record the habdful of current stuff.
my bose surround system is awesome.......you can hear the sound
effects in china when i watch surround sound effects
programming......... it would be a shame to stifle that system!!!
