In addition to grand prize winner David Lieberman, Chris Quarles, Ari
Richards, Rick Ryan, [EMAIL PROTECTED], Dave Rosen, and Sue from Lamp
came up with the correct answer of "Rosemary's Baby" and
"The Odd
Couple."

Moviola @aol.com pointed out that these two films were Paramount's
highest grossers for the year. Perhaps this explains why they paired
the two films -- to create a mega blockbuster evening?

I have at least three other theories:

1) Something for everyone: Regardless of your taste in movies, you're
bound to entertained during some part of this double feature.

2) The studio was creating a loophole whereby kids could get into
Rosemary's Baby. They just had to buy their tickets before The Odd
Couple, and hopefully the theater would cooperate and sell them the
tickets.

3) The studio was run by idiots.

Does anyone know if this double feature was actually popular?

It almost makes sense, as long as you watch "Rosemary's Baby"
first.
You watch the comedy second, so you can go home in a good mood. It
doesn't make any sense if you watch "The Odd Couple" first.

A few other odd double features were submitted...

Channing mentioned "Flower Drum Song" plus "Imitation of
Life."

Sue from Lamp mentioned "Guns of Katie Elder" plus "Red Line
7000."

I've also noticed that "It's Alive" has been paired with
"Badlands."
I have not seen "Badlands," so I'm not sure how wacky this is,
but
one can conclude that disturbing films about babies go good in a
double feature.

Sorry if I forgot to mention anyone.

Thanks,
rk
