I love Lelouch.. he is always great. But I'm also lucky enough to
have some perspective with the driver
my 3000GT goes very fast.. I mean... f a s t.... and smooth
I've had the car up to 150mph out in the desert and it still had meat
left if I wanted to go faster.. it's rated at 167mph top speed
I've had it at 120 for extended drives.. Once, back when the car was
newer of course and also when times here were different than they are
today , a girlfriend and I went up to Lehman caves which straddles
the Nevada/Utah border up north.
It's 295 miles and we got there in 2hours 40 mins and the last 10
miles were at 35mph
so I have some perspective on driving that car.. but my car with
modern technology (all wheel drive & 4 wheel independent suspesion
for instance) than the one that driver is racing with
That driver is more of a maniac than anyone I can possibly think ever
watching.. after he missed a couple turns, and a couple people too..
well.. Lelouch knows how to make your heart race!!!

On an
August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch
mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari
275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer,
drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris early in
the morning . The film was limited for technical reasons to
10 minutes; the course was from Porte Dauphine , through the
Louvre, to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur.
No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a
permit.
The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes,
reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage
reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real
pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way
streets.
Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch
was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the
driver, and the film went underground.
