This is a great film for gear heads (and must be truly seen on the big screen for maximum lubrication values) but there is fakery afoot. Lelouch finally admitted that this was actually filmed from the bumper of a Mercedes 6.9 (a fine machine in and of itself) and the soundtrack is the only thing Ferrari about it. Nowhere in it does he come anywhere near to going over 100mph. If you watch carefully keeping in mind the gear changes that are being made and knowing what speed a wrapped out Ferarri would be making those gear changes at it's clear that what's being shown has no bearing on what's being heard. There's one section where he's topping out 4th gear yet he's in one of those tiny Parisian streets - that would put him well over 100mph+, simply impossible to do. Also as he's driving down the road just before the making the turn at the Louvre he's in high gears but passing cars "only" doing maybe 30mph over them - if that were truly the gear he was in you'd barely be able see them go by. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this, watch it regularly and have even figured out the route using Google Earth so the next time I'm in Paris with a car I can follow it (at legal speeds of course). It is truly the "magic" of filmmaking though. Just hearing those Ferrari gear changes is worth the price of admission. --Peter
