Depending upon who signed the poster or lobby card, I usually like
signed lobbies and posters. I have some nice cards signed by Gregory
Peck, Cary Grant, Bette Davis and Katharine Hepburn that I consider
priceless. I don't like personalized items however. I don't want that

Subject: Re: [MOPO] the value of an autographed CARD or POSTER

Personally I do not like autographs on posters and would not buy one
unless the poster was very scarce and I really wanted it - to me the
poster is defaced with an autograph, so I would grade it lower - but I
don't know what the convention is on this.

DOES AN AUTOGRAPH ADD VALUE TO AN ITEM?

most say, YES. MANY PAY SUPER-HIGH PREMIUM AMOUNTS for autographed
posters/cards.

am i in the minority or majority that prefer a poster not to have an
autograph? if an autograph is "To Elmo from Bette Davis", and my name
isn't Elmo.......

if a poster is in poor condition, but autographed, would it fetch more
than a VF grade?

thoughts?
