"London After Midnight" is a great one.

To go back to Bruce's original post, there's a handy wiki page of "Lost Films" 
that includes missing films from as recently as 1983;  "Where Is Parsifal" (The 
Curse Of Orson Welles strikes again!) and in 1987 the original version of 
"September" that Woody Allen shot and then scrapped.
