Walt was a heavy smoker. Died of cancer 12/15/66, he was 65. I just watched a great documentary on him last night on CNBC. His brother Roy was going to retire at that time too. But the family convinced him to oversee the construction of Walt Disney World which opened in October 1971. He did retire after the opening, but died two months later from a seizer on December 20, 1971.
