Rosza was great even with his "later" scores. I'm thinking of his
work in the 1979 low-budget Nicholas Meyer cult sci-fi pic, "Time
After Time," with Malcolm McDowell, Mary Steenburgen and David
Warner, which had H.G. Wells in Victorian garb chasing Jack the
Ripper in modern-day San Francisco.
What gave me chills - and I can't find it anywhere online - was the
music that accompanied the opening credits - which Rosza decided to
begin with the Warner Brothers' classic-sounding "fanfare" - before
segueing into a lush and ominous sounding score that made this low-
cost pic feel like it had been budgeted for mega-millions.
I found an extract on You Tube at the link below - and while it does
NOT include the WB "fanfare" and opening credits - it does have a 4-
minute sample of how much more fun the pic was with Rosza's score:
