hiya all,
DQ is intelligent
therefore all static levels are intelligent (all is ultimately DQ).
this intelligence is divine intelligence. it is perfect.
intellect is a translation of divine intelligence - symbolic description. it is
necessarily approximate (static) ie imperfect.
the intellect grew out of, evolved from, society. it was and is a quantum leap.
it was 'the fall' (nothing can be gained without losing something else). man
became self-aware, self-conscious ("shit, where's me fig leaf?). the schism,
twixt he and others, he and nature, he and she, etc, was born.
the evolutionary purpose of this schism was to liberate man from social
control. he was literally separated from the Giant so that he may become first
aware of it and then free of it. the path from 'awareness' to 'liberation' is
a hero's journey. once free of the giant, intellect has served its primary
purpose. to be
free of the giant means to transcend (unconscious) thought. the giant
controls through the voice in the head that many identify as their
inner self. this is also known as the ego.
but i am not doing justice to intellect yet. intellect is the realm of ideas.
it is an analogue of and a movement towards the very source of reality, for
everything begins with an idea. it is also a matrix by which we liberate each
other. intellect, at its BEST, is dialogical. this is plato's dialectic. this
is dialogue that is original, spontaneous - maximally open to the influx of DQ.
we free ourselves by freeing each other.
eventually intellect leads us to an impasse. a wittgensteinian impasse. the
final jump is Art. through Art we perceive the very movement of reality itself
- the dynamic, the mythos, the divine. through Art we learn that we must
surrender control to that intelligence that has produced everything, including
ourselves.
man, free, returns to the cosmic fold. alienation has served its stepping stone
purpose. he is now reunited with nature and his kin (all life) but at a higher
level. he has acquired self-knowledge (gnosis); which is to say he is conscious
of his own divinity and its reflection in all he sees. man has evolved back to
where he came from. the circle is complete.
