Dwai on JD's illusionary and harmful effects and contrasts with real meditation :

In moderation, I don't think JD creates any havoc. Thanks for the warning :). I've done some meditation in yoga and martial arts..but I didn't get it..maybe I wasn't ready then. Perhaps, I need to see "Tao meditation".I guess I'll read the Tao book you suggested and do those exercises..i'm curious though does it require a Master or only the mindset ? > > > >A good source of "Peyote stories" would be Carlos Castaneda. > Thanks once again, I'll do some reading over the weekend. > > Sharath earlier: > > Also, I can't connect to the "searching for a greater reality" that > people > > here are talking about. Others >redirect > this into some kind of sensual feeding frenzy (sex/food/drugs/alcohol etc). > I agree that the "call", if not everyone does come to most people. And..I do realize we all react to it differently. But somehow your list doesn't seem complete and it only gives one aspect of the *reaction...For some other people the reaction might induce them to meditate[Dwai] and some paint[Marsha] some spend quality time in the woods[SA] some serve the Universe[Ron] some others read Rorty and write complex dissertation[Matt] and as for me, I play ping-pong and I also get a high wading through lively Bangalore traffic.[i think there is a latent intelligence operating in Bangalore traffic managing the balance between chaos and order and riding through it, one gets a deeper understanding of the universe..a different story though ]..actually, the "guide" in my case has told me to stop seeking and to start plain old fashioned living :). Dwai: >The restlessness, the deep-rooted feeling in the gut that says there is something beyond this "reality" we live in is the one that is the >guide. Hmm..This is akin to "The Matrix" and "Zeon". Dwai, are you "Neo" the chosen one in disguise :) ?
