Marsha, Arlo and y'all:

It took only a few minutes to discover that the "petition project" is bogus 
nonsense. It's a political cause, not a scientific one. It is dishonest, to say 
the least. The so-called scientific paper that serves as it basis was not 
published in any scientific journal or anything like that. This web site 
explains how some otherwise decent people may have been fooled into signing the 
petition.

I'm going to resist the urge to say nasty things about Platt, but Jeez. You can 
imagine what I think and probably goes without saying, anyway. At this point, I 
just feel sorry for the guy.
