Ron:
Its "better-ness" if one values existence , but I'm with you.

[Krimel]
But I don't think valuing existence is something we chose or learn to
do. I
think it is a biological default position.

Much of what we value has value in proportion to its impact our
existence.
We are attracted to what promotes our existence, repelled from what does
not
and ambivalent when the option are not clear cut.

Mostly, value is perceived as autonomic biologically hardwired emotional
responses that serve us well with the valance is clear cut. Rationality,
intellect serves to override emotion in the face of ambivalence.

Ron:
I knew a few who, under emotional duress, chose to end their own
existence.
To be or not to be. The subject of euthanasia comes to mind, where non
Existence is more preferable to suffering. I witnessed my brother pray
God send death.
But I see where you are coming from.
