SA: And this is the well-spring of democracy. This
is what I like about Zen. Zen says find your own way,
and when you do, your enlightened. It's a very
independent experience. At the same time, Zen
realizes we're all in this together. Zen is freedom.
Zen is democratic. Zen is laughter. Here's a quote
from "ON THE HIGH SEAT OF "THE TREASURE OF THE LAW"
The Platform Sutra of the 6th Patriarch, Hui Neng"

Hui Neng says to Bhikkhu Yin Tsung:

"Buddha replied, 'There are two kinds of 'element
of goodness', the eternal and the non-eternal. Since
Buddha-nature is neither eternal nor non-eternal,
therefore their 'element of goodness' is not
eradicated. Now Buddhism is known as having no two
ways. There are good ways and evil ways, but since
Buddha-nature is neither, therefore Buddhism is known
as having no two ways. From the point of view of
ordinary folks, the component parts of a personality
(skandhas) and factors of consciousness (dhatus) are
two separate things: but enlightened men understand
that they are not dual in nature. Buddha-nature is
non-duality."

SA continues: What the moq does to bridge between the
eastern logic and western logic. When western logic
of s/o meets eastern logic of a more
grounded/deeper/'behind the scenes' oneness, where s/o
is a child of this mother-oneness, then s/o remains,
but as an analogy where it is helpful to point out s's
and o's, yet, these s's and o's, in reality, are one,
intertwined, combined, and thus, you may point to an
s, but this s does not remain an s. You may point to
an o, but this o does not remain, exclusively an o.
The two flux together, and a whole stream of betweens,
maybe, probably, both, neither, and others are
understood. Dependent origination is lived. The
western logic of s/o doesn't die, but deliteralizes,
opens to creativity, and democracy. When eastern
logic of oneness meets western logic are flourish of
static latches, and dynamic activity happens.
