[Krimel]
I would say that life does have a purpose. Its purpose is the
continue living, to grow and reproduce itself.

[Arlo]
Does this mean that people who do not seed children are violating
life's purpose? Is a (wo)man born sterile "purposeless"? And if our
purpose is simply "to continue living", it really doesn't answer the
"teleological" question of "what for?" Why should I keep living?
Because I am a cog in a wheel that needs to keep spinning? Great.

[Krimel]
Well that goes back to your original contention that purpose is located in
your head. Purpose is only relevant to the purposeful agent. I was confusing
this with activities of the invisible hand which suggests the trajectory of
individual agents by the pattern exhibited by lots of them. Does this make
teleology probabilistic as well? my, my.
