I would add that probability also diminishes as one moves backwards

As hard as it is to conceptualize this, I agree.

Do you really think this is all that conceptually difficult? It does seem a
bit counterintuitive but pretty obvious once you think about it. I wonder
because others seem to have problems wrapping their heads around the whole
idea of probability and determinism as well. If it was just Ham and Platt I
would say, "Oh, well..." but Craig doesn't seem to get it and DM keeps
insisting on anthropomorphizing it. I really think Pirsig saw it but didn't
have the tools to embrace it.
