Again I'm reminded of this statement by the leading objectivist of the 20th
century: Ayn Rand, "For the New Intellectual

dmb says:
Ayn Rand was the topic of a discussion I recently participated in. Not that the
professor planned it that way. She was introduced by way of a student's
question. It only lasted a few minutes, however. After a little back and forth
between the teacher and the student I got the distinct impression that time was
being wasted. So I raised my hand and asked, "So, are there any academic
professionals that take Ayn Rand seriously"? His answer was unequivocal. All he
said was, "Ahhhhh, ...no". But the way he said it was such that everyone
laughed real hard. That was the end of that discussion.

About a week later I saw a news article about a rich business man who was
frustrated at the fact that no American colleges or Universities are willing to
teach Ayn Rand, so he put up a big pile of money in an attempt to get an
institution of higher learning to teach a course on her work. Apparently, you
literally can't even pay people to teach that crap.

My point? Ayn Rand fans aren't to be taken seriously as thinkers. Would-be
intellectuals would be wise to keep their admiration to themselves or, better
yet, re-think that fondness.

She was also voted "worst novelist of all time". And the Church of Satan is
heavily influenced by her work.

If you're a philosopher, loving Any Rand ought to be your deepest, darkest
secret.

Just so you know,
