In my personal experience even when the more "liberal" take Rand
seriously in order to have sensible debate the conservatives run a
mile - that right Platt ? (Want to dig out the previous correspondence
?)
I wouldn't choose DMB's phrasing, but he's not far wrong - IMHO, natch.
But as so often happens MoQ,Discuss is turned into a left vs right
slanging match instead of a constructive debate. Situation normal.

Indeed it is. I try to limit myself in these kinds of debates, seeing it
soberly I recignize the difficulty of getting though with my arguments
concerning politics to a forum largely dominated by Americans (and no, that
wasn't an attack of any kind, just a recognition of the fact that "liberal"
is considered left wing in america; and so my policies is not even on the
map)
However, after having reached a better understanding of what the
intellectual level and what the social level is, and gone through in my mind
over and over different political ways of responding best to Quality, my
only conclusion has been that an social level patterns must be subjugated
(controlled that is, not destroyed) by intellectual ones, and in order to do
so, the strongest one of them (social value patterns) all - Capitalism -
must be, if not completely abolished, then heavily controlled by
intellectual patterns.
It's simple logic. No Pathos.
