As said to Krimel, Pirsig's obsession was the Quality= Reality issue, and he may at times have some strange utterings regarding the levels. Agree, Lila was completely lodged in the social reality, emotions her primary expression. Pirsig is a little un-MOQish here, somewhere else he postulates "celebrity" as a social value, and Lila B. may have been an avid reader of glamour magazines and as such "social conscious", but he own standing is irrelevant.
