Subject: Re: [MD] the subjective

Hi Marsha

Is objectivity a view from nowhere, therefore always a fiction,
but a useful one, one that helps us see experience in a wider
context. MOQ can retain the benefits os SOM without
starting to lose sight of experience by too strong a focus
on what can be imagined beyond experience to make
sense of experience, such is reason and objectivity.

DM

Hi David,

I bought and hope to read next, 'Objectivity' by Lorraine Daston and Peter Galison. It's a book mentioned in the How To Think About Science series. My exposure to the Western slant of things far exceeds my meager exposure to Buddhist thought. But I cannot be satisfied with the little RMP writes about it. I cannot take it simply on his word. But I assure you, the MOQ is very, very important to me.

hi,

ham:
Ultimate reality cannot be based on a phenomenon. Quality
requires a
sensible subject in order to to be realized.

gav: you can also say 'a sensible subject requires quality in order to be realized'...the crucial point is which one comes first!!!! i'll give u a clue - it ain't the subject.

Warm regards,
Ham
