Hi Joe --
Ham you are writing to a mailing list that subscribes to a weird Pirsigian metaphysics of DQ (undefined)/SQ(defined) metaphor of reality. I can¹t take you seriously on your word. IMO weird Persigians have no problem with the possibility that the undefined difference of the Social Order is Consciousness, self-awareness.
Joe, I'm sorry that you "can't take me seriously on my word." I'm even sorrier that your subscription to the MoQ prevents you from considering the possibility that self-awareness is not derived from the Social Order.
Society is the order of mankind. It is made up of individuals, each of whom is a conscious being with its own unique value-sensibility. Value is not realized by the collective, nor are thoughts a product of society. Being-aware is the most precious asset you have. To externalize it as a pattern or level of the objective world is to demean human life and the value of awareness.
Thanks for responding. I wish you all the the best, despite this misconceived view of reality.
