Tiny question. My body is not perfect, but I still kind of like
it. Don't you like yours?
[Arlo]
Let us suggest a rewrite before an answer.
"Tiny question. Our body is not perfect, but most of us still kind
of like it. Don't you like yours?"
Now that I can answer.
It serves most of its inhabiting selves for most purposes. One of
these selves has tried to get it to mountain bike more, but it
resists. It seems to prefer beer and cheese to athletics and yoga,
but most selves occupying its gray matter have learned to go with the
flow on that. The biker self finds it more than adequate for handling
the Harley and making long rides. The football self, however, finds
it also lacking in agility and speed. Sadly, it will likely never get
any of these selves a date with Salma Hayek (although the funny self
believes "if only she got to know 'me'"), but my fiance kinda likes
it (or so she tells the self she professes her love to). But we are
comfortable realizing that in many contexts it is irrelevant to the
self at hand.
But if you are simply asking "Arlo" an not concerned with the vantage
other selves in his gray matter would have, he would answer as such.
Yes, I like my body. It works these keys admirably, and allows me to
express myself in this forum accordingly. Other than motor-skills and
keyboard utility, I don't have much value one way or the other in the
body I habit, so long as it stays fed and healthy so I can continue
to exist here, I am happy with it.
