[Lord Arioch]
Thee Iraqi "insurgence" seems rather healthy,in defiance to thy Army...
[Arlo]
Look at what they are armed with. And, at the very best they have
succeeded only in prolonging the conflict.
woods:
Good point Lord Arioch. I don't know, Arlo, if they have either
prolonged the conflict or they are more revolutionaries standing by. This
current Security Pact is interesting. The Iraq parliment has rejected
this initial Pact and the U.S. came back with threats of dire consequences
if the Iraqis don't sign it. This threat of the U.S., for why the U.S. can't
just negotiate with anybody even the very people they say
their trying to help without threatening them is not surprising anymore, but
anyways
this threat has stirred the nest and now some Iraqis leaders in parliament and
other sectors are fearful the U.S. may try to set up a coup if
the Iraqis don't sign this Pact. You know, the threats of Marshal Law
if the House wouldn't sign the bailout - a similar pattern now in this Pact
process. When the U.S. threatens the Iraqis it is so hard
to figure out what's really happening in that country. This makes the
U.S. look like aggressors (further for those that believe they were
the aggressors to begin with) in a democratic (or republic, don't know the
correct term for their gov't but you get the idea) process, and makes any
Iraqis that would rise up in resistance look ever the more as freedom fighters
than anything else.
But Lord Arioch you do bring up a good point. Small armed groups can
last for some time as long as they can find homage somewhere still. It depends
on how much a big army wants to go all out in their pursuits of warfare
obviously.
If they wanted to bomb all over the place, then it would most definitely be
difficult
to last under those conditions.
