Platt Your mentioning Andrew Wyeth brought back memories of my own first painting efforts. Wyeth was known through reproductions in "Saturday Evening Post" (that was sold over here) and one particular article in Time Magazine (when he turned fifty I believe) He was however above my wildest dreams and did not figure in any "How to ..." books, so I went for a more modest artist whose paintings looked like I could master them. Now I was about to tell his name and the title of his book, but the alas I did not find it. Anyway, he will probably not be a household name, belonged to the "trash can" school - Edward Hopper and the like - and my first paintings were truly trash ;-) When you get there Marsha snap a few photos and send me some.
